We needed to conduct a sensitive investigation into matters raised in a staff exit survey. Due to the nature of some of the matters raised we decided this was best looked into by someone independent of the Trust and the school.

How we helped

EPM conducted a thorough virtual investigation. The approved investigator liaised appropriately with the Trust beforehand to understand all aspects of the work they were to undertake. They then explored further documents and policies which may be needed. They met with all appropriate parties personally (virtually) over the course of two weeks and provided a detailed report including suggested resolution points.

The results

Despite being a complex situation, because it was conducted externally, the outcomes were respected by all parties. This was especially important as there were errors on all sides. Subsequently, restorative discussions have taken place; these might not have been possible without a truly independent report.
