Salary dependant on experience and qualification.
– Pathway 3 – Actual £14,679.49 – £15,789.59 (FTE £23,194 – £24,948) per annum
– Pathway 4 – Actual £16,081.36 – £17,306.02 (FTE £25,409 – £27,344) per annum

Upwood Primary Academy is a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve. The academy was built in 1961 and is a one-form entry Local Authority primary school. The school comprises of 7 classes, together with an assembly hall, stage area, library, ICT suite, cooking area, dining room, two offices and staffroom.
Upwood Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor to join their passionate and dedicated team. The successful candidate will have the ability to undertake both roles day to day and adapt accordingly for each one.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with pupils with a range of different abilities and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. They will be able to support and aid the learning of pupils through clarifying and explaining instructions, ensuring the use of equipment and materials and to provide continuous encouragement and motivation.
Knowledge of the foundation stage curriculum and understanding of school policies (behaviour, health & safety, child protection) will be key to this role along with the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with pupils to encourage their motivation towards learning.
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
This position will require the successful candidate to ensure the security and care of and to promote their social development during the lunch time period. This will include managing and monitoring behaviour, reporting any accidents or incidents and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils during this time.
The ability to develop positive relationships with all pupils whilst managing behaviour will be a key aspect to this position. The successful candidate should be able to remain calm and professional under pressure and use their initiative to manage situations in an appropriate manner.
