Hartford Infant and Preschool, as part of The Cam Academy Trust, is looking to appoint an Early Years Apprentice to join their established Preschool team from September 2025. You will be working alongside our qualified and experienced staff who will support your childcare journey. You will also be assigned a mentor and be working under the direction of the Preschool Manager and Deputy Manager.
We are looking for someone who has an interest in working with young children under 5 years. Has the ability to relate and interact with children and most importantly should be enthusiastic and caring.
Key duties within this role include:
• plan activities for and with the children;
• organise play areas, materials and equipment;
• encourage fair and caring behaviour among the children;
• encourage independence and self-esteem;
• talk to children about their concerns or worries;
• deal with injuries and emergencies;
• liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals.

Training:
• working towards a Level 2 Early Years Apprenticeship over 12 months.

• understand the play needs of children and young people;
• provide a stimulating but safe environment;
• work with integrity and enthusiasm;
• be aware of health and safety issues.
