About this Role

Part time (2 days per week, term time only)

We believe that it is important for children to spend more time outside, to understand and connect with their own local environment and nature, and to be active and be exposed to a full range of sensory experiences and practical skills. Morley Forest School gives every child in our school a safe and comfortable space to express themselves.

We also run weekly nurture groups which provide extra help to our learners who need the benefit of some wellbeing support, some opportunities to learn in different ways, or some help with socialising with others and communicating.

We are now looking for a caring, passionate Forest School Leader to join our friendly and professional team to continue to develop our Forest School offer, deliver our weekly Forest School sessions for a range of year groups and our weekly nurture sessions for children with additional needs.  A commitment to inclusion and experience of working with children with a range of needs is essential.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering meaningful forest school experiences for groups of children across the primary range.

  • Providing additional sessions to support delivery of provision for children with additional needs

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure safe, high quality provision

  • Recruiting, co-ordinating and supporting Forest School volunteers

  • Leading the further development of the Forest School Curriculum offer

You must be able to commit to delivering sessions throughout the year, term-time only, hold a Level 3 Forest School qualification or equivalent and have experience of working with primary aged children. Experience of working with children with a range of SEND and/or of applying therapeutic approaches would also be an advantage.

Visits to our site are warmly encouraged. Please contact the school office on hr@morley.cambs.sch.uk to arrange an appointment.

The closing date for applications is midday on 4th September. Interviews will take place on 14th & 15th September. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made. Applications from 21.08.26 onwards please.

Shortlisting will be based upon each applicant’s capacity to demonstrate how they meet the criteria.

Morley is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check. The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references.

In line with guidance from the Safer Recruitment Consortium an online search will be completed for shortlisted candidates.
