Wittering Primary School is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to play a vital role in supporting the pastoral provision across the school and wider school community, with a particular focus on safeguarding and child protection matters, provision of pastoral support and attendance.

Working hours are 25 hours per week, 5 hour per day, Monday to Friday.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting with safeguarding and child protection matters

  • Acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the School

  • Acting as a member of the school’s Early Help Team

  • Liaising with external agencies and representing the school at attendance, safeguarding and family support meetings as required

  • Providing bespoke educational and pastoral support to small groups and individual children requiring additional support

  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on pupil attendance, identifying concerns and implementing early intervention strategies

 The successful candidate:

  • Has excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • Communicates confidently and sensitively with children, families and professionals

  • Can build positive relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Can work independently while contributing positively to a wider team

  • Is confident using digital systems and maintaining accurate records

  • Has experience of working within a school environment, ideally in a safeguarding or pastoral role

  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics

Salary Range:

£18,075.36 - £19,964.58

Salary is dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience.
