SCIENCE TECHNICIAN
Are you organised, practical, and passionate about supporting science education?
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our successful Science Department at Hampton College.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by preparing resources and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining laboratories, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students and staff.
In this role you will be:
Preparing materials, equipment and apparatus for practical science lessons.
Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensure laboratories are kept clean, organised and safe.
Monitoring and maintain stock levels of scientific materials and equipment.
Supporting the preparation of teaching resources.
Working closely with teaching staff and the Senior Science Technician to support the smooth running of the department.
We are looking for someone who:
Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Maths.
Possesses excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills.
Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Is adaptable, proactive and willing to learn new skills.
Experience working within a school environment, A-Level qualifications in science subjects, a degree-level qualification, or a specialist in Physics would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
Working Hours:
This is a permanent position between 30 - 37 hours per week, term time only.
Please note that exact working hours can be flexible, in discussion with the successful candidate.
Salary
Technician (Grade 4)
Full-time salary (52 weeks) from £25,614 to £26,427 per annum
Term-time salary (based on 37 hrs per week/term time only) from £21,372 to £22,050 per annum
