Student Support Assistant - Part Time

Part time – 20.5 hours per week, 9.30 – 14.00 Monday, 10.00 – 14.00 Tuesday to Friday.

Marshfields School is a 191-place special provision for students aged 7 – 19 with Learning Difficulties. We wish to expand our staffing structure to ensure that it is closely tailored to meet the needs of the students that now need a place at Marshfields School.

The purpose of the post is to complement and support the learning and wider needs of all students to ensure they are supported while at school. This position is part time
We had our most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2023 and we are extremely pleased that the overall effectiveness of the school has been graded as Good and the school has been recognised for all the hard work that goes on every day here.

Every student at the school has an Education, Healthcare Plan (EHCP). Typical levels of triangulated functioning:
· A cognitive profile at or below 2nd percentile
· Attainment in the core subjects will be significantly below chronological age expectations (at least four years behind, but no more than 6 years below their peers)

What you’ll need to succeed
A good understanding of the principles and practices of SEND education, or a willingness to learn and develop your skills in this area.
A positive and enthusiastic attitude, motivated to inspire students.
The ability and willingness to provide personal care.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
