Are you a passionate, visionary leader ready to shape the future for our learners?

Burton End Primary Academy, part of Unity Schools Partnership, is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Headteacher to lead our thriving and inclusive school community into its next exciting chapter. Located in the heart of Haverhill, Burton End is a place where learning is joyful, aspirations are high, and every child is nurtured to believe in themselves and their ability to succeed. Our dedicated staff and engaged families work together to create a school environment that is warm, inclusive, and ambitious for all.

About Us:

We are a popular and diverse primary school committed to academic excellence, inclusion, and the personal development of every child. We proudly celebrate the uniqueness of our pupils and champion a learning culture rooted in kindness, respect, resilience and ambition. In 2020, we opened a hub to cater for 12 KS1 children with a range of complex needs. In September, we expanded the hub to also include KS2 children providing a primary pathway for our children with complex needs.

Following our recent Ofsted inspection in 2025, we are delighted to share that inspectors said: “Pupils feel proud to attend this welcoming and inclusive school. They are kind and respectful towards each other. Staff know pupils well and build strong, trusting relationships.” “The school is ambitious for pupils and is improving rapidly.” “Leaders are determined that all pupils, including those with SEND, achieve well. Staff provide effective support to ensure that pupils access the full curriculum.” We are proud of this recognition and are looking for a leader who can continue to drive this positive momentum forward.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a strategic and inspiring Headteacher who:

  •  Has a strong track record of improving outcomes for all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL.
  • Champions every child’s wellbeing, development, and individual potential.
  • Leads with integrity, ambition, inclusivity, and clarity of purpose.
  • Builds a strong and collaborative culture with staff, pupils, families, and the wider community.

In Return, We Offer:

  • A supportive and forward-thinking Trust: As part of Unity Schools Partnership, you’ll join a collaborative network of leaders and educators who share knowledge, resources, and best practice.
  • A culture of professional development: Access to expert training through Unity’s Teaching School Hub, Research School, and Unity Institute, including executive coaching and leadership mentoring.
  • Innovation at your fingertips: With our Trust-wide digital strategy, pupils in Years 4 to 6 have access to 1:1 iPads, supporting modern, research-informed teaching.
  • Wellbeing and work-life balance: Including a two-week October half term, flexible working options, and access to a comprehensive staff benefits package.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re passionate about primary education and excited to lead Burton End into its next phase of growth, we would love to hear from you.
