About the Department
The Science Department works hard to ensure that all students feel safe and secure in their learning and strive to achieve academic excellence. This focus is underpinned by an ethos of continuous improvement, putting students and staff’s needs at the forefront of everything we do.
Our department is exceptionally well-equipped with modern laboratory facilities, enabling engaging and effective practical science lessons. Our ethos is simple: practical activities are central to great science teaching, and our facilities make this possible.

We currently offer AQA GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy), AQA GCSE Physics, AQA GCSE Biology and AQA GCSE Chemistry. At Key Stage 5 we currently run OCR A Level Physics, OCR A Level Biology and OCR A Level Chemistry.
Outside of the classroom, science students at Hampton Gardens are able to experience regular enrichment activities, including an active weekly STEM club which benefits from links with local businesses, as well as regular trips to universities and national science competitions.
