Clerk to the Local Governing Committee
Up to one day per half term outside of normal working hours
Salary £13.47 per hour
The Local Governing Committee (LGC) at Discovery Primary Academy are looking for a Clerk to Governors to support governors and leaders in the academy.
The role of the Clerk is to prepare for, attend and minute LGC meetings (usually 4 per year), in addition to delivering a full administrative and advice service to the LGC in the academy. There will be an element of post-meeting action points to follow through.
Meetings are ordinarily on a Tuesday evening, with the remainder of work undertaken outside of normal working hours.
About this Role
The Clerk will work closely with our Chair of Governors and Headteacher and it is essential you are proactive and can work under your own direction.
The role includes:
· Providing effective administrative support to the LGC.
· Attending all LGC meetings throughout the academic year
· Preparing and circulating agendas and paperwork in advance of meetings
· Taking accurate, concise minutes at meetings and circulating them as required
· Maintaining LGC documentation in the academy
· Using GovernorHub and other IT
· Providing advice to the LGC on legal and procedural matters
· Attending appropriate training (which may be in the daytime, evening or online)
This role is internally advertised and is well-suited to someone who has existing experience in an administrative role within the academy. The successful candidate will be provided with full training from the Trust.
