We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Play Worker to be part of our Careclubs team providing high quality childcare and play opportunities. Careclub provides a place for children to come and play, explore, build on friendships, and enjoy the outdoors.
Our wraparound care provision and holiday club are thriving and we are seeking a Playworker to join the team. Initially on a one year fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. We are a committed and experienced staff team, who care deeply about the children in our care. We give children who attend a great start and end to their school day, understanding that children have different needs and cater to them. In addition our popular holiday club provides exciting play opportunities in a safe fun environment.
We are seeking someone who has experience of working with 3-11 year olds; who can facilitate the provision of safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities, allowing the children in our care to explore on their own with unobtrusive adult supervision. Our ideal candidate will take a role in activity planning and preparation and will be required to actively contribute to the development and quality of the setting.
This part-time fixed term role is for a total of 18.5 hours per week during term time, this will be a mixture of mornings (7:35am – 8:45am) and after school sessions (3:00-6:00pm). During the school holidays Playworkers will be required to work on days that the club is open from 8:15am until 5:45pm. Our holiday club closes for two weeks during August and on other selected holiday dates throughout the year where annual leave would need to be taken.
Should it be required childcare for your own child is available at the club during your working hours at no cost.
Start date – February 2026 or as soon as possible after this date
Salary – pro-rata £24,796.00 (NJC2025 scale point 3)
