YEAR 1 CLASS TEACHER – MATERNITY COVER FROM APRIL 2026

Bourne Abbey C of E Primary Academy, part of Abbey Academies Trust, is a three-form entry Church Academy situated in South Lincolnshire.  The other schools in our Trust are Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academy and Colsterworth C of E Primary School. The school was judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted in July 2022 and was awarded an ‘Excellent’ SIAMS judgement in May 2023.

We are a community in which everyone is offered the opportunity to fulfil their full potential, to understand themselves and be valued for who they are. Through a stimulating and challenging learning environment, we pursue academic excellence and seek the flourishing of all. This is because we know we are all God’s children.

We recognise that children are created in the image of God but also value their individuality as they explore their own God given talents and are treated with respect and dignity at all times. We understand that a curriculum is the totality of a child’s experience during their entire time at school. It is not isolated to subjects or viewed solely within small timeframes. It is all-encompassing. It is for this reason that our aims and curriculum drivers extend well beyond the individual subjects, showing our commitment to giving all our children every opportunity to achieve in all aspects of their life. Our vision is that through our Christian values, we aim to nurture and challenge all our school family to flourish and become the best they can.

The children, staff, Trustees and Governors wish to appoint an innovative, inspirational and dynamic teacher who:

  • Knows that all children can flourish
  • Can inspire and make things happen
  • Plans creatively and delivers motivating lessons
  • Enjoys working with others and brings out the best in people
  • Rises to a challenge and responds enthusiastically

Rewards:

  • A positive and caring ethos underpinned by Christian values
  • A supportive, energetic, happy and dedicated staff team
  • Highly responsive and courteous children with a zest for learning and who see themselves as ‘Agents of Change’
  • A committed and proactive Board of Trustees and Local Governing Board
  • Active and enthusiastic parents and carers
  • A warm and welcoming working environment
  • Excellent provision for continuing professional development
  • A successful, forward-thinking school with an exciting future

Closing Date for Applications:  Noon Monday 26th January 2026

Interviews: Tuesday 3rd February 2026
