Teacher Intern into Apprenticeship Opportunity
The successful applicant will initially work as an Intern alongside an experienced Teacher. Then, subject to successful completion of the intern year (2026-27) and gaining a place on the Postgraduate Apprenticeship route, as an Apprentice Teacher from July 2027 until July 2028 to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with The Cambridge Partnership (PGTA) This is a temporary role. To gain further experience, there may be an opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant in the Summer Term 2026 before the internship starts. Salary range for intern: £24,790 – £26,835 (Actual £20,656 – £22,360) Salary for Apprenticeship: £21,731 (UQT1) pay review pending
About the school
Samuel Pepys is a Cambridgeshire area special school for 142 wonderful pupils (increasing to 165) aged 3 to 19 years living in St. Neots and the surrounding area. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan to meet their individual needs. Our pupils inspire and teach us a lot and we are committed to ensuring everyone achieves their full potential through fun, purposeful and engaging learning opportunities. About the role
This role offers the opportunity to work for a year as a Teacher Intern leading to the Apprenticeship route to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with The Cambridge Partnership, known as the Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship (PGTA) If you are a graduate, or about to graduate, with relevant experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs or with a commitment to training to teach within a specialist environment, we would like to hear from you.
