VACANCY : Pupil Support Assistant

Start: ASAP
Salary: Approx £12,000 per annum Scale point 6:07
Contract type: Part time – 20 hours per week. Term time only
10am – 2pm (some flexibility may be possible)
Contract term: Permanent
Location: Across any of our three sites, Bretton & Dogsthorpe

Heltwate School is a welcoming and supportive special school for pupils aged 4 to 19 years. All students have an Education Health Care Plan and we work collectively to support their severe and complex needs.

We currently have vacancies to join Heltwate School as a Pupil Support Assistant. The successful candidates will support pupils in the classroom, during the break and lunchtime period and support with their personal care routines.

Heltwate School believes in giving all pupils the best learning experiences and enabling each of them to achieve their potential and develop important life skills in preparation for adulthood.

We are looking for someone who:

 Is able to work under the guidance of the class teacher and other
staff as part of a team as well as using your own initiative to
support pupils
 Is calm and patient
 Is reliable and has a sense of humour
 Is highly organised and has excellent time management skills
 Has a positive and professional attitude and is a quick learner
 Enjoys working with children and is prepared to develop
relationships with challenging children
 Is committed to our school ethos of care and support for all pupils
