Cover Supervisor
34.15 hours per week, term time plus one week
Required for September 2026
Actual starting salary – £23,835.94 per annum
(FTE £30,024 – £32,061)
We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to supervise students who are following a programme of study in a classroom environment during the absence of class teachers.
The Cover Supervisor is not required to teach but to supervise groups of students in the classroom, whose work has been set, and to ensure that learning takes place in a calm and orderly environment. This is an important role to provide additional support to both staff and students across the key stages and will involve deployment to various departments in the Academy on an ‘as required’ basis.
On those days when cover for whole classes is not required, duties will include supporting students alongside subject teachers in the classroom and assisting with supporting students in other areas across the academy as required. Previous experience working in a school environment would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given for the right candidate.
The working pattern for this position is Monday to Friday 8:10am – 3:30pm.
You will be working school term-time plus one week which equates to 39 working weeks per year.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Is confident and assertive
- Has the ability to relate to young people
- Has a flexible approach
- Can work as part of a team
Please see the attached job description and person specification for more information.
