Governing Body Clerk Vacancy
Barnabas Oley are looking for a Clerk to the governing body. The governors, working closely with the Headteacher, set the strategic direction, vision and ethos of the school and monitor and challenge the progress of the school in achieving its priorities. The Clerk will be accountable to the governing body, working effectively with them, the chair of governors and Headteacher.
The main purpose of the Clerk to the Governing Body is to:
• Provide effective administrative support to the governing body, setting agendas and minute taking for the meetings.
• Manage and update the Governor section of the website.
• Manage information effectively, ensuring policies are updated to the required schedule.
• Provide advice to the governing body on procedural matters.
Candidates should be competent in the use of a word processor, email and internet and have access to a computer.
he clerk is paid to reflect the importance of the role and the work that needs to be done to support the running of the school. The annual salary is between £1000 – £1200 depending on experience for around 84 hours work per year including a number of meetings, mostly evenings and other work that can be done flexibly. Experience of clerking is not required. Training will be provided for the successful candidate. A full job description is available.
