By proactively managing short- and long-term sickness absences and implementing preventive measures, you can create a positive and supportive workplace culture that promotes employee wellbeing and engagement.

Our CPD-accredited, Absence Management Training provides the tools and strategies you need to achieve these outcomes. Our experienced trainer will guide you through the entire process, from identifying the root causes to implementing effective absence management policies and procedures. You'll also learn how to handle challenging situations with sensitivity and empathy, ensuring your employees feel supported and valued.

Course highlights

Join our HR expert, as we discuss the impact sickness absence can have on your School or Trust, and help you develop tools for managing and dealing with short-term and long-term absences. We'll advise on how to effectively manage absence whilst remaining compliant and maintaining employee morale, covering:

  • the different types of absences
  • the importance of managing absence and the cost to your School or Trust
  • the responsibilities of the employer and employee
  • how to identify the causes of absence in the workplace
  • how to comply with employment law and best practice considerations, including the Equality Act 2010 and Employment Rights Act 1996
  • how the absence process works, covering what's included in the informal and formal stages
  • the role of Occupational Health and when to make reasonable adjustments
  • how to manage effective returns to work.

On completion of this course, you will receive a CPD certification. Since the training is accredited, it also supports your employees’ professional development.

Payment Terms

Please ensure payment is made at least 48 hours before you are due to attend the training.

If you require a purchase order number on your invoice, please send this to finance@epm.co.uk following receipt of this email. This needs to include the attendee's name and training date.

Cancellation Terms
  • If training is cancelled or rescheduled more than 7 days before you are due to attend the training, you will receive no charge.
  • If training is cancelled or rescheduled less than 7 days before you are due to attend the training, you will be liable for 100% of the charge.
  • If you book training less than 7 days before the training date, you have 24 hours following your time of booking to cancel or reschedule without a charge.
  • Any time after that will be 100% chargeable.
