Meet your hosts and expert panel

Jen Elliott, Chief Executive Officer

Having joined the company in 1995 and worked her way up through the business, Jen was appointed CEO in 2017. Jen brings considerable experience of working within the education sector, having worked with some of the UK’s largest MATs. She has supported academy leaders and CEOs with complex staffing issues and worked with the DfE on some of the first MAT conversion projects. 

Andy Mackey, Chief Operating Officer

Andy has over 25 years’ experience running operational teams and delivering technology-enabled change across a wide range of sectors. He most recently ran a 2-year transformation programme at Azets, a top-10 UK accounting firm, which consolidated over 70 businesses and created a platform for further growth. Andy has held numerous director-level positions, including IT Operations Director, MD and divisional Chief Information Officer.

Ailsa Calverley, Lead HR Partner 

Ailsa is one of our Lead HR Partners and has worked for over 10 years in the Human Resources sector. She was also a qualified teacher with many years of experience teaching within the primary education sector.  

Alison Wayman, HR Manager 

Having started her career in the private sector, Alison moved into the education sector around 20 years ago when she became the Director of People Services at a large further education establishment in the East Midlands.  Before moving to EPM, Alison worked for the local authority supporting schools.  

Rebecca Ryan, Legal Counsel

Rebecca is a solicitor specialising in employment law. She qualified in 2001 and has worked in both private practice and in industry, and even gained practical experience by working in HR for a while. She deals with all aspects of employment law including dismissal, discrimination, redundancy and TUPE. Rebecca delivers training, both internally and to local businesses, and in her spare time she is a trustee for a local MAT where she also chairs the HR committee.
